Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Hutch & Son's Enterprises LLC, doing business as VA Claims Field Guide ("we," "us," "our"), collects and uses information when you visit vaclaimsfieldguide.com (the "Site") or purchase our products.
We are a private educational publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any other government agency.

1. The short version

  • We collect your email address if you ask us to send you something.
  • We use a third-party payment processor to take payment. We never see or store your full card number.
  • We use analytics and, at times, advertising cookies to understand how the Site is used.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • Please do not send us your medical records, C-file, service treatment records, or any other health information. We do not need them, we cannot review them, and we do not want to hold them. See Section 4.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Email address, and first name if you provide one, when you request the free chapter or subscribe to our emails.
  • Order information when you purchase: name, email address, billing address, and country. Payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
  • The contents of any message you send us at support@vaclaimsfieldguide.com or any other vaclaimsfieldguide.com email address.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and approximate location derived from IP address.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy.
  • Email engagement data: whether an email was opened and which links were clicked.

Information from third parties

  • Our payment processor sends us confirmation of a completed transaction, the last four digits of the card, and the billing name and email.
  • Our email provider and advertising platforms may provide aggregated performance data.

3. How we use information
We use the information above to:

  • deliver the free chapter, the guide, the workbook, and the annual rate sheet;
  • process orders, issue receipts, and handle refunds;
  • send you emails about the guide and related educational content, which you may unsubscribe from at any time;
  • respond to your questions and provide support;
  • measure and improve the Site and our advertising;
  • detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized redistribution of our materials;
  • comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (for visitors in the EEA/UK). We process your data on the basis of your consent (marketing emails, non-essential cookies), performance of a contract (delivering a product you bought), and our legitimate interests (site security, fraud prevention, basic analytics).

4. Health information — please do not send it
Many people who find this Site are in the middle of a VA disability claim. We understand the instinct to send us your rating decision or your records so we can look at them.

Please do not. We are an educational publisher. We are not a VA-accredited representative, attorney, claims agent, or health care provider. We do not review individual claims, and we cannot give you advice about your specific case.

If you send us health information anyway, we will delete it from our systems as soon as we reasonably can and will not use it for any purpose other than deletion. We are not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate, and no communication with us creates any confidential, legal, or professional relationship.

5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies required for the Site, checkout, and security to function.
  • Analytics cookies - currently Google Analytics 4 - to understand traffic and page performance.
  • Advertising cookies and pixels - currently Meta Pixel - which allow us to measure ad performance and show ads to people who have visited the Site.

Non-essential cookies are set only after you consent through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw consent at any time using the cookie settings link in our footer. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

We honor
