How deadlines are counted. The clock starts the day after the date on your decision notice. If the last day falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or federal holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day (38 C.F.R. § 3.110). Filing within one year keeps your claim “continuously pursued,” which protects your original effective date (38 C.F.R. § 3.2500(h)). You can only have one review pending on the same issue at a time (§ 3.2500(b)).
Limits. This tool does not give legal advice and does not cover legacy appeals (decisions issued before February 19, 2019), clear and unmistakable error motions, Board reconsideration motions, or good-cause extension requests. Always go by the date printed on your own letter, and file early. Mail and processing delays are not counted in your favor. Forms: VA decision reviews.
